Key Update Caribbean 2021

Uncategorized Key Update Caribbean 2021

There is a marked variation as regards the impact of the pandemic on each Caribbean country,  while all have been affected,  recovery in each territory is expected to be staggered across the region.

Over 130 hotels are scheduled to open across the Caribbean,  needless to say all planned openings have been pushed back :   with the vaccine expected to be available to all by the second and third quarter this year,  industry experts conservatively estimate openings of 50 new properties in 2021 with the balance shunted to 2022.

While luxury and business tourism may recover at a quicker pace,  the main advantage of land based all inclusive package tourism is that cruise travel will certainly be the last to regain its former appeal especially given the bad rap the cruise industry has had to endure during the height of the pandemic,  consequently all – inclusive Caribbean resorts may in fact benefit from this and possibly chalk up a 40-60% occupancy rate increasing to 70-80% by the end of 2021

There is also an element of optimism across the region that 2021 may yield pent up demand from the North American Market & a larger number of hotel properties come onstream by fall 2021,  this is expected to perhaps also spread to restaurants whose launches were postponed

HighSkye will endeavour to keep its members abreast of all hospitality reopenings as well as new Hotel & Restaurant openings to enable the members to steal a march & be poised to apply for premium positions at the right time

Only HighSkye members will be directly informed as to when,  where as well as to whom to submit their applications

Our advice is,   join now as memberships are extremely affordable & be prepared as more jobs begin to flow :  And get vaccinated as soon as possible for your safety but also as the world is moving towards a vaccine passport
